Celina + Armando – An ADK Wedding Filled With Music, Family & the Ausable River

Some weddings feel less like an event and more like stepping into someone’s story. Celina and Armando’s day at The Hungry Trout in Wilmington, NY was exactly that—intimate, welcoming, and full of the kind of emotion that only happens when the people who matter most gather in one place.

The Hungry Trout sits right on the edge of the Ausable, overlooking the chasm carved into the mountains. It’s one of those spots where you can hear the river before you see it—peaceful, steady, grounding. And it fit their day perfectly.

Even though Celina and Armando are based in NYC, their families are spread across the globe. Watching everyone travel into the Adirondacks to be together in this tucked-away riverside corner felt special. It wasn’t a huge guest list—just the people who mean everything to them—laughing, hugging, catching up, and truly being present.

And in one of my favorite touches from the whole day, Celina’s sister officiated. There’s just something different about a ceremony led by someone who doesn’t have to pretend to know you—they do know you. It brought this extra level of warmth and authenticity that made every word land that much deeper.

After the ceremony, we slipped down to the Ausable River, just steps from the venue. The river was loud enough that you had to lean in to talk, the late-day light was bouncing off the water, and the mountains framed everything so perfectly that it barely felt real. Those moments by the river—bare feet balancing on rocks, dresses tucked up out of the water, everyone laughing between shots—ended up being some of my absolute favorite images of the day. It felt calm and wild at the same time, the way the Adirondacks always do.

After their first dance, Celina & Armando did something that no other couple has done in my career; they blended their two instruments together and played a first song. You would have never thought a tuba and violin would pair so well together, but these two proved that wrong. Both musicians, both artists, both completely connected in that moment. Guests circled around them, quieting instantly as soon as they began. No one needed to be told to pay attention—everyone just felt it.

It was intimate in the best way. Personal. Unique. One of those moments that sticks with you long after the day is over.

Every piece of Celina and Armando’s wedding felt intentional—family-led, music-filled, surrounded by nature, simple in the best way. It was the kind of celebration that reminds you that weddings don’t have to be big to be full of meaning. They just have to be true to the couple.

And this one? Completely, beautifully true.
